A suggestion for Congress: Follow the money

Here's a simple suggestion for Congress: Whatever the corporate oligarchy - oil companies, Wall Street banks, health insurance companies - spend millions of $ trying to prevent you from enacting into law, that should be your top legislative priority. Corporations in the U.S. have always been predatory, but today profits have become the holy grail and they are unwilling to spend any money that will decrease this "manna from heaven." Without strong unions, and with the dependence of the political elite on bribes (oops, political contributions) and the congenial relationship between the media and the oligarchy, there is no one left to protect the rest of us. So why not say: "We're here to protect all our constituents, not just our sponsors."
