Vigil to protest 3,000 U.S. dead in Iraq



Grandmothers Against The War Vigil
January 1, 2007
4:30-5:30 pm, (but most come early).
On west side of Fifth Ave betw 49th & 50th Streets, across from Saks.

(B, D train to 47-50 St.-Rockefeller Ctr; E to 5th Ave/53d St.;n #6 to 51 St.)

Mostly silent vigil: We will read names of NY and NJ Iraq War U.S.
military dead.

Probably then a silent procession to Times Square Recruiting Center
(where vigil participant group the Granny Peace Brigade was arrested
last year, as Joan points out). Bring black armbands & candles.

Brooklyn Parents for Peace will hold a peaceful vigil in sad commemoration of the now 3000 dead U.S. military personnel as well as the countless thousands of dead Iraqis. Please dress warmly and bring friends and neighbors to mark this solemn occcasion. We will provide signs,candles and black armbands for participants.
