Sept. 17-23: Youth activists retreat


Youth of New York City unite!
Are you young and interested in social change? Do you believe that our generation has a historical opportunity to embrace diversity and join forces for social and political transformation? Join thirty of the leading young religious, social and political leaders from the New York tri-state area, and other countries, for 7 days of exploration, celebration, and alliance building.
The New York City Local Jam
September 17 - 23, 2005
Applications for the NYC Local Jam are open until August 1, 2005 at 11:59 PM midnight on Easter Standard Time. Accepted applicants will be notified by August 15th by e-mail. The event will take place from September 17 to 23 at a retreat center in upstate New York - 2 hours by car from Manhattan. All expenses will be paid for by the Global Youth Action Network.

JULY LOCAL GATHERING

A garden hang-out for youth activists and organizers! Relax, connect with, and get to know other people in the youth movement. Local Gatherings bring together NYC's coolest youth organizations and activists to network and showcase youth activism projects from the city. They are a part of the Global Youth Action Network's Local JAM Project to create a sustainable network of young change makers in New York City. Spread the word!
